• Remember to look at the instrument panel for a keyboard guide to the various controls in ReelMotion.
• Select SImulation>Begin from the top menu (command-B) to start the simulator. Press the Escape key to stop. You cannot quit out of Reelmotion until you have pressed the Escape key to stop a simulation. Pressing command-B begins the simulation again at your starting position.
• The mouse controls the steering and acceleration of the ground vehicles. Move left to turn left and right to turn right. Move forward to accelerate and back to brake.
• You can also use a parking brake to hold the vehicle on a hill or to stop. Just press the "B" Key on the keyboard. It toggles the brake on and off.
• Press "R" on the keyboard to place most any vehicle in Reverse. Even a jet or a motorcycle (yes it does the unreal as well as the real :-). the "R" is a toggle key.
• Press "P" to Pause the simulation. It will flash in the instrument panel when it is on. Press "P" again to resume.
• Press the F12 key to enter into camera mode. This will allow you to position the camera in your scene. You do not have to be in camera mode to change cameras. In other words, at any time during your simulation, you may enter TV Track or Roam or External mode, etc. simply by pressing the proper function key (refer to the instrument panel). Press F12 again to return to drive mode.
• To fly the airplane, do the following:
- Center the cursor in the simulator window (right on the crosshairs).
- Hit command-B to begin the simulation.
- Press the "S" key repeatedly to bring the throttle up (you will see it
move up in the instrument panel.
- Watch the speedometer (lower left) and when you see the needle go
above 200 knots, slowly pull the mouse back (cursor down) a little bit
and keep pulling back until the nose of your plane gently lifts off the
ground.
- If you are still having difficulty taking off without crashing, as soon
as the plane reaches 250 or 275 knots, hit the "Q" key to enter autopilot
mode. It will help control your plane.
- Once you are in the air you will probably want to turn the autopilot on
anyhow, even if you didn't need it for the takeoff.
- Throttle up ("S" key) or down ("X key") as necessary to control the
speed of the aircraft.
- Just use the moust to fly around. You will see how it control the plane.
• To bring in terrains, just select File>Add>DXF Terrain... from the top menu and import a terrainfile. If it is not rotated properly, just use the Transform button when importing to rotate it to the desired position.
